All you have to do is keep the food near the dog. As soon as they do something that is right, you can give them the treat as a reward. Not only is it good to keep dog treats around for when a dog is training, but also when they are simply playing around the house. Often times, you will catch them doing certain things that you will want to be reinforced or they will begin to do what has been part of the training in order to receive the treat. You will want to make sure to continue to reward them, as this will keep reinforcing their good behavior. Over time, you will notice that you won't need to offer the extra snacks for the dog training. Your dogs will naturally respond to the idea of food and be happy with doing what you want without the extra meal. If you want to make sure that your dog enjoys training and does what you want, adding in an extra snack is a great trick to use.
